Car Alarms: Alarm Wont Chirp When Arming/Disarming, blown fuse, silent feature

Question
Hi....my car alarm doesn't 'chirp' when I arm or disarm it. My alarm has a silent feature but even when I don't use it, the alarm still doesn't make any noise. The alarm works fine in any other circumstance, like if the car is bumped or if the doors are opened, but for some reason it just doesn't make any sound when I arm/disarm it. I never realized how helpful the 'chirp' was until it stopped working. It has become a hassle to have to visually see my headlights blink to know for sure that my alarm has armed itself. I thought it might be a blown fuse but I dismissed the idea because if the fuse was blown, wouldn't it disable the alarm from going off altogether and not just when it arms/disarms? Unless there are separate fuses for each alarm sound. Any help you can give me is MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

Hmmmm, without knowing what after market alarm you have
there, try this...
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
If not. look forward to removal/replacement
or repair.
