Your post replies to alarm related questions sure solved my Alarm problem too. Vehicle: 1997 jeep grand cherokee laredo.
Alarm disabled when the wire (velvet/yellow strip)is grounded. But  it has turned the dome lights on unless the wire is disconnected. So whenever the alarm goes on unexpectedly I grounded the wire to disarm the alarm and remove off again until it happens the next time. This I don't understand.

The alarm has an issue. Not sure what it is,
but when you ground the wire, is disarms it,

Leave it grounded until someone can inspect
the entire installation and make correction in
how it's disarmed/reset & triggered.

Then take it to a technician.
