Car Alarms: Help! New ignition switch installed and alarm wont stop!, relative questions, ford vehicle

Question
I have an F150 from 1998 that came with an alarm on it. I know little about it. For years it goes off if someone opens a door through the window etc.

But the key always reset it just fine.

Yesterday I had to replace the ignition switch because the old key could be removed from any position and no longer shut off the radio and other items plus the beeping even when the vehicle was off and key removed.

We disconnected the negative terminal slipped out the old switch and installed the new one but when we reconnected the battery the alarm has been tripped and the truck won't start.  The new key works fine except for starting the vehicle.

Help, this is my work truck and it's stuck in the parking lot at Advanced Auto with $40,000 of tools on it.

Answer
I have set up a web site
to deal with the FORD P.A.T.S. "No Start" issue and
explained the methods, with illustrations, to get
around this common problem many Ford vehicle owners
& shop mechanics face everyday.

Please go to the FORD PATS website/Blog and begin your
project to learn how to bypass PATS so you can
drive your vehicle again!

Good luck and if you have more relative questions
about the Ford's P.A.T.S. (Passive-Anti-Theft-System),
please be sure to use the PATS BLOG link on that
page to post it or, any other comments you want to
express.

I do hope you find it useful,
& good luck with your project.
