Car Alarms: lost keyless entry to my 1996 Nissan pathfinder, nissan pathfinder, nissan car

Question
QUESTION: Please help. Still stuck. I lost keyless entry to my 1996 Nissan pathfinder and I can't start my truck. I've tried waiting the 30 seconds and the 3 minute resets and no luck. What am I doing wrong? Do I wait for the security light to stop blinking? Or enter when it stops?? Please help.

ANSWER: The "valet" switch is for after market only.

No switch exists in an OEM Nissan car.

If this is indeed an after market alarm and
if this is also a remote starter, the antenna on the
windshield may also have a button inset into it
that is the valet override.

But normally, it's drilled into a spot near the left
knee or, calf area into a plastic panel.

See the attached photo to identify it.

Then try, key on just before cranking,
press and hold in the button for
up to 5 seconds or until you get a
responce from your siren, & lights.

Then key off. This should be reset.
Try to start it.

If it's a toggle type switch found,
key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.

This would be override.
Try and start the car.

Repeat these steps to go back into
arming mode when ready.

Good luck.

QUESTION: My alarm is factory installed not aftermarket so no valley switch exist. Do you have any advise to help me??? Please. Thank you so much for your help.

ANSWER: Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

A.

QUESTION: Unfortunately the previous owner bypassed the horn and headlight fiasco. From what I understand if you try to enter without key the horn honks and headlight blink. But the car is in antitheft mode and wont start and it shut off all power.. no lights, dashlights, nothing. So I get out, lock door with key, wait til the light for security to go solid for 30 seconds and blink. I enter car and try to start it and nothing.  Battery is good. Already had it checked. Again.. THANK YOU, please...more help.smiles

Answer
Here's the thing, in this Japanese truck, as in all the others,
putting the key in the drivers side door, turning left then right
disarms the OEM system.

If this is not working, and you insist there is no after market
system, then the only other thing is a defective part.

See autozone to read the codes from the body control module
to see why. The trouble is deeper the the factory alarm
at this point.
