Car Alarms: 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alarm Arms by itself, jeep grand cherokee, alarmtek

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with an after market alarm.  My problem is that within a minute or so of shutting off the engine the alarm will arm itself even if the key is still in the ignition.  The red light will first come on steady and then after a minute will start a slow flash and the alarm will chirp once. I then have to use the remote to disarm it.  Is there a way to stop it from arming by itself?

This would be an after market alarm with
"last door arming" and would need the manual
to find out the steps needed to turn that function
off. Once done, you would need
to manually lock/unlock-arm/disarm the alarm
system to operate it.

Since all alarms differ in the features/function settings,
the procedure notes for your specific alarm unit are vital
to make this feature change happen.
