Car Alarms: anti-theft, lincoln town car, siren sound

Question
QUESTION: hey, i have a 92 lincoln town car no after market parts except for a new deck. after i fixed the door locks the alarm will randomly go off sometimes hours after i have turned the car off. it will also go off as im starting the car or as soon as i turn the engine off. if i have one where might my valet switch be i cant find it anywhere under the dash? or what might you think the problem is?

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: it is a factory alarm i have not put any after market parts in it except a new CD player. the headlights flash and the horn sounds. not a siren sound or an LED with parkinglights flashing

Answer
A factory alarm "sees" a spike in the battery and triggers.
In your case, I am assuming that one of the wires attached to the door locks
you repaired is setting it off.

Recheck the wiring there. Specifically the dark green/purple wire.
Since this is a positive type door trigger system, I am betting you are
attached to a negative here.

Re do the wires.
