Car Alarms: car key/alarm disable?, flip switch, key activation

Question
Hi. I have a '95 honda accord, that has an after-market alarm system, although i don't have the alarm, just the key activation part. i use the little black remote to lock and unlock the car, instead of using my keys. I accidentally dropped the remote in water overnight and now it does not work. So, i have to use my key to open the door. The alarm is set, tho, so i have to push the toggle switch everytime to temporarily disable the alarm. My question is ...how can i disable this alarm so that it doesn't keep beeping and flashing the lights every so often. Also, where can i get a new remote? honda told me it was aftermarket. any help will be appreciated. thank you..rod

Answer
Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
If not. look forward to removal/replacement
or repair.
