Car Alarms: ford probe alarm, ford probe, japanese vehicle

Question
I have recently purchased an M reg Ford Probe but the last few days the alarm (car horn) has been going off everytime I open the door. I have tried to disable the alarm using advice you gave somebody else by earthing the yellow and red wire but it is still going off. I am having no luck! Any advice? Desperate!

Answer
Car Alarms: ford probe alarm, ford probe, japanese vehicle
1994 Ford Probe
The advice is for the US version 1994 - 1995.
This wire did not exist for that purpose in the 1996 - 1997 version.

(Also, this was the first colaboration with Mazda on a car)

That being said, I'm
not sure your version
will be applicable.

However, there are certain commonalities on these cars.
The best way to control a Japanese vehicle's OEM security
is to add keyless entry to the door lock system.

The physical action of locking and unlocking remotely,
will also arm and disarm automatically, thus controlling
what it does, and when it does it.

Other then that, I'd have to visually inspect what you
have there to determine where to procede.

Have more to go on? How old is the battery?

Let me know.
