Car Alarms: Viper Alarm wont rearm its self, gmc sonoma, designtech

Question
I have a 92 GMC Sonoma S10 and i lost then found the alarms remote after i disabled the alarm. (installed in
00'/01')

i used a spare key to unlock the doors and access the vehicle. (alarm went off/no remote/cut wire to siren) not knowing what exactly to do at the time, I pressed repeatedly the override button while turning the key in the ignition. it eventually started and the alarm was disabled.

found the remote awhile back and i have tried to rearm the alarm w/ the press overide button within 5 secs of almost ignition crank. alarm does nothing. (Light not on or blinking) car will start like their is no alarm installed, remote does nothing, and i reattached the siren.

I will take to a shop if its not something that i can fix.
