Car Alarms: factory security system wont let car start, mercury sable, relative questions

I HAVE A 2002 MERCURY SABLE LS THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN WONT START BECAUSE OF THE SECURITY SYSTEM BEING ACTIVATED. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE OFF THE NEGATIVE CABLE ON THE BATTERY FOR A HALF HOUR AND RECONNECT- NO GOOD. I EVEN REPLACED THE BATTERY- NO GOOD. THIS JUST HAPPEND ALL OF A SUDDEN TODAY- DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO- TRYING TO AVOID A DEALER AT $100 PER HOUR. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE.
