Car Alarms: Alarm Battery Draw, valet mode, pin switch

Question
With a fully charged battery how long should a car remain parked with the alarm set & still start? I have a brand new battery but it seems to die in 48 hours with the alarm armed (longer life in valet mode). Can a module box malfunction & start a strong parasitic draw?
Thanks for your time.

Answer
A car alarm drains at a normal .35 milli amps.
I'd say you can have this in a car without starting
it for up to, and past a week (maybe 10 days),
so I think you may have a relay frozen open or, a circuit
pulling 30 amps or more somewhere.

Try unplugging the after market alarm brain for 24
hours or so. If the battery is still draining at that rate,
then it's not the alarm, if it does not drain, then it's
time to scrap that alarm, check all the relays it may
be attached to and start again, but first you need
to narrow down WHAT it is that is causing the undue
drain. If it's something else like an open light,
or bad door pin switch, you will know that as well.

Good hunting.
