Car Alarms: Car Alarm, gm passlock, chevy blazer

Question
I just bought a used 1999 chevy blazer.  unfortunatly I had to installed a new alternator and the alarm in car no longer work.  I am also unable to find the toggle switch.

Any ideal where in the car I may find the toggle switch? or how to reset the alarm.

Thank in advance for your prompt support.

Answer
Ok, this GM vehicle also has the
GM PASSLOCK 2 fuel rail disable system,
and it would affect the starter.

Passlock Engagement Symptoms:

The dash security light would be on, the engine would crank,
even might turn over, then die off. Like the fuel pump or,
the injection system would not "catch" and start the engine.

If you did the research, then I'm sure you are aware this
is a common issue with Passlock 2 system.

That is your likely trouble.
However, it's also fixable at www.GMPASSLOCK.com .

See the PLJX bypass kit. As long as you can start
the engine most of the time, you need just the 69.95 kit.

If it won't start now, you need the PLJX kit with 2 relays
and sockets for 89.95. The relays and proper resistor
will allow you to start the engine everytime with the
key, but if left that way, will drain the battery within
2 days. Each relay pulls 30 amps. So you would then
use the PLJX kit (which requires RPM rate to program)
overlay the wiring over the relay work according
to the direction we supply, and then once the PLJX is programmed
and set, remove the relays and resistor and you are done.

That is the way to circumvent Passlock 2 if this is
the situation you are experiencing.

If it's the after market alarm you spoke of,
the starter would not turn over at all.
That's if the system also was installed with a starter interupt
relay inline. It would not even attempt to crank. Nada.

Which one sounds like your issue?
