Car Alarms: 1995 grand cherokee alarm, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

I just bought this 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee for my son and it wont crank because of the alarm. The battery was dead so i replaced it and the siren started going off, lights flashing, etc. How can I start it and permanently disable the alarm?
