Car Alarms: aps2k4s - flof, prestige alarm, chevy suburban

Question
I drive a 2001 Chevy Suburban 1500. I have a prestige alarm installed. Sometimes my Suburban will not start. I am fairly sure its a problem with this alarm. It will always start a short time later. Sometimes within a half hour and on one occasion it would not turn on for 3 days. I have done some research and it might have something to do with the ground wire. Please help me. Thank you so much in advance.

Answer
This truck also has the PASSLOCK 2 fuel rail disable system,
and would affect the starter. The engine would crank, even turn over,
then die off. Like the fuel pump or, the injection system would
not "catch" and start the engine. If you did the research, then
I'm sure you are aware this is a common issue with this year
Passlock 2 system and the part in the ignition switch tumbler
that communicates with the passlock ciruit tends to ware down with
use. Flawed system and now yours is 10 + years old.

That is your likely trouble.
Fixable at www.GMPASSLOCK.com
See the PLJX bypass kit.

If it's the Prestige, the starter would not turn over at all.
That's if the Prestige also was installed with a starter kill relay
inline. It would not even attempt to crank. Nada.

Which one sounds like your issue?
