Car Alarms: I need help, alarmtek, dash area

Question
I have a 98 jimmy. The car alarm keeps going off and i cant even start my car when this happens. I cant really do anything and the other day while i was driving around the block to make sure that it woould run before driving it to work, and it started going off on my way around the block. This is a real frustrating problem i am having. Ive done my research a little bit and have found it to be a BCM or body control module but thats all i have found out about it. Is there any way i can bypass this and just take it out? Or do i have to take my car to the shop and do it? Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Answer
I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY or, ANTI-THEFT" light
in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
