Car Alarms: key fob, key fobs, ford taurus

Question
hi,

i have a 1998 ford taurus se with a transponder chip in the key.  i have both original keys from the dealer.  i need a third key but don't want to pay the high cost for one.  can i tape one of the two key fobs that i own to the steering column and get a regular key cut to start and run my car?

Not suggested.
But if you do, take the 1st key and locate the
reader around the key switch tumbler.

Then get a standard, non transponder key cut
to work in the tumbler.

Now, find the SWEET spot where you can hot glue the
key inplace & that allows the vehicle to start
everytime with the store cut key.

That will do it, but tricky.
Does not always work, but it does take
a bit of finesse to do it.

Go carefully and it should work.

Good luck.
