Car Alarms: micro alarm for 99 honda, alarmtek, micro alarm

my neighbor heard his alarm going off went outside to shut it off just go start the car and nothing worked. he replaced the car battery thing that was the problem . now the horn is the only thing working could the alarm have a kill switch in it to have shut down the car. hw can he reset it
