Car Alarms: 2000 Ford Taurus, ford taurus, flip switch

Question
I am sure you have answered this many times, but my battery was dead on Sun., so I got a jump. Everything went fine until I opened the car door later that night and the alarm went off. I got a new battery the next day, and now my alarm keeps arming itself everytime I close my doors and it goes off (horn blaring, lights flashing, and not starting)when I open the door. My key fob will not disarm the alarm and the valet switch does not disarm it either. The only option that has worked is disconnecting the neg. battery cable and then reconnecting it. I have searched all over the internet and have asked everybody I know. I hope you can help.

Answer
Hmmmm, After market from the sounds of it.
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
If not. look forward to removal/replacement
or repair.
