Car Alarms: 1997 Accord SE factory alarm problem, alarmtek, radio area

Question
QUESTION: I have a 97 Accord SE with factory-installed alarm system.  Having problems with door key entry setting off the alarm occassionally.  Is there an alarm control module that I can find and switch to the "off" position?

ANSWER: Make, model & year of the vehicle?

Please be more descriptive if possible.

"SETTING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: This is a 97 Accord SE with a factory-installed alarm system.  Setting off the alarm causes the horn to honk and headlights to flash.

Also, in the radio area there is a large rectangular button with an LED and the word SECURITY, and that LED flashes whenever the alarm is armed.

The problem is that when it's armed, using a key to unlock the driver's side door "sets off" the alarm, causing the horn to honk and the headlights to flash until disabled by again unlocking with the key.

Is it possible to replace the door tumbler to fix this?  Or, is there a way to prevent the alarm from setting up when locked?
