Car Alarms: 96 ford taurus alarm, ford taurus, alarmtek

Question
Hey
I drive a 96 ford Taurus and i have ran into a problem that leaves me clueless. So my alarm has been going off randomly for awhile now. Last week my car began to shut completely off while i was driving it and the battery would be dead. I got the alternator, starter, and battery all checked and they all tested very good. When i jump the car, it only runs for a couple minutes before the power shuts off again.
Would this be something with the alarm?
And also, where do i find the valet to shut the alarm off?
Thanks a ton,
Ross O

Answer
No this is not an alarm related problem.
Rather, it's actually the alarm is now
being affected by the problematic power/
charging system.

This also has the Ford PATS system the
can shut down the fuel injectors. It too
can be affected by a bad power system,
so it still leads back to the power.

I'd replace the battery with a 60 month
heavy duty, and then watch for any improvement.

If after awhile, it continues to do this,
then you may have to go deeper into it.

But shore up the power system first.
