Car Alarms: 2003 chevy avalanche, passlock 2, chevy avalanche

Question
My 2003 chevy avalanche will crank but will not start. Gages do not move when key is on and battery lite stays on even with key out of ignition. Dealer found no power to fuel pump and no comm with any module, remove splice pack 205 to isolate each module and found that radio was crashing system when plugged in taking out class2 comm line.  They removed the radio and reprogrammed the theft module.  Truck is working fine with no radio installed. Dealer says radio is bad.  Is this possible for the radio to disable the starting system?

Answer
Absolutely. They are coded. And specifically, if
you unplug one without knowing the code
to reset, the PASSLOCK II system in this truck
will disable the fuel rail to the injectors,
and all the electronic guages too.

If it starts now without problems, good.
Leave this alone and get an aftermarket
audio system installed when ready.

If not, then yes the PASSLOCK 2 is engaged now, and has
disabled the electronics you spoke of.

To get around PASSLOCK (which GM does not want you to do)
go to my site at www.GMPASSLOCK.com and see the 89.95 option
for the PLJX kit & 2 relays.

Then the truck will start everytime
and the PASSLOCK II issue is gone.

They do make things difficult over at GM. :>(

This will simplify matters. The one thing
it will also do is leave the truck without
security. So you may want to opt to back up the
disabling of the PASSLOCK system, and add
a few layers of deterent. See the Combination
alarm and PLJX kit package there too.

I hope this helps you on the right track.

Good luck.
