Car Alarms: faulty car alarm, alarmtek, toyota carina e

Question
QUESTION: Hi there,
I have Toyota Carina E (1993) with factory installed alarm. Recently it started
going off during the day while it was on the driveway. It's going off for about
2 seconds and then nothing. Sometimes it happens few times a day. At the
beginning I thought that kids were playing too close but now it happens even
when I'm at work and have car parked outside.  Battery is fairly new (got new
one last year). Could it be the heat? I've noticed it is going off when it's very
sunny. Please advise.

ANSWER: Hello Ms. Olga,
Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Hi Robert,
Horn is honking, but i don't know what's going on the dashboard as I'm not
anywhere near the car. I don't know if lights are flashing either. By the time I get
to the car it is already quiet and nothing is flashing...

Answer
Ah, sorry I do apologize,
but my expertise is in after
market vehicle alarm systems.
Your's seems to be Toyota factory/OEM issue.

I suggest talking to one of the
techs in my Forum about this one.

Please go to www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com
re state this inquiry there.
I am certain Robert there will be
happy to assist if possible.

I hope you find the answer/solution
to your issue.
