Car Alarms: Viper car alarms/ remote starter, viper car alarm, alarmtek

I Have a viper car alarm/ remote starter everything works great up close however at a distance farther than five feet away it will not start by phobe until you are closer. How can i get it to start at a distance? Thank you for your time and advise. Its becoming difficult to find any info on this type of car alarm/ starter. Thank you .
