Car Alarms: Viper alarm not working, google search, support question

Question
When I set my alarm the blue light starts flashing and my doors lock.  But when I try to open the door and shake my vehicle the lights do not start flashing and my siren does not make a sound. In other words my alarm is not working at all and I don't have the owner's manual.
