Car Alarms: Valet Remote car stater, google search, car stater

Question
I have a Ford EDGE 2008 I had a Valet CE0890  The auto stater works when key is in the ignition,but will NOT work if key is out of ignition. I have taken it back 3 times for a reset. Now they want $40 dollars and will not tell me how to reprogram. Please help.
