Car Alarms: 97 Toyota Camry alarm, sudden jolt, toyota camry

Question
I've seen several topics here in reference to a problem with the alarm system in the '97 Toyota Camry. I have a similar problem, but the fixes suggested to others cannot work for me for several reasons.
1. When I got the car (used) it did not come with a remote.
2. Despite a thorough check of the underside of my dashboard, I have been unable to find anything resembling a 'valet button'. Yet I have on the left side of the wheel the flashing red LED.
My car has only recently started doing this, and I have only had it for about a month. The dealer made no mention of an after market alarm, and the car did not come with a manual, so I do not know if the alarm is a stock model or not.
At first I was able to unlock the car with the alarm going off only after I tried to start it, but now it goes off when I unlock either of the front doors. And after the alarm has stopped sounding, any sudden jolt (closing the hood or a door) will cause the horn to chirp about 6-8 times rapidly, but the alarm will not be disarmed.

Answer
It is an after market system.
So weather the installer placed a valet
switch is important. If this system also starts
the vehicle, or was of the 2 way variety, the
valet switch could also be placed inside an on glass
antenna (windshield mounted) or if a Code Alarm,
the LED that is flashing, may double as the valet switch.

Either way it is in tamper mode.
Best option at this point is removal and repair/replacement.

Obviously without the remote it came with,
it's uncontrollable, so less is more.
Scrap it and sart over.

I hope this helped.
