Car Alarms: 2000 Dodge Neon alarm no start, dodge neon, flip switch

Question
QUESTION: I bought my 2000 Dodge Neon from a private owner. My alarm was always over responsive until one day it came on and never came on again. I never really cared much for it until recently. I was doing a routine maintenance on the vehicle and I cleaned the battery terminals. When I was finished and hooked up the battery again lo and behold the alarm kicked in and would not turn off. I found the horn and disconnected it but the alarm is still active and the car apparently has a kill switch on it. I cannot turn on my vehicle with the alarm on. Please help

ANSWER: Try the following:
PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
If not. look forward to removal/replacement
or repair.
