Land Rover Repair: fuse, fuse blows, colour shape

Question
I have a 98 landrover disco w/ the 4.0 v8 and automatic trans.  My question is...what could be causing a fuse to blow everytime that I put the truck in drive.  The fuse blows and then I hear the door chime beep, the overhead lights flash when I open the back doors, and the cd changer just makes a clicking sound.  I know this sounds like a short somewhere but I cant find one.  The fuse that keeps blowing is a 10A fuse and appears to be some kind of relay fuse.  It is an "in dash" fuse but the fuse ledgend does'nt tell me what it is.  Please help me if you can..

Answer
Hi Luke,

this is a tricky problem.  I believe there are 21 10amp fuses on your Disco.  Could it be the MFU fuse?  Multi-function unit.

I am terrible at locating such electrical shorts, but I know that eventually connectors become corroded and that's when these problem arise.

Send me an email and I'll send you a fuse listings.

Give me a better description of the location of the 'relay' you suspect.  Where is it located, what is beside it, colour, shape...

Regards,
