Car Alarms: Car alarm problem, car alarm, inset

My car alarm is repeatedly setting off for no reason. What could be causing this. The red light flashes a seven flash sequence when the car has alarm has been activated. Someone said that this could be the supersonic sensor. What is this?

Answer
Not certain of the system, but MOST knock/impact
sensors have a wheel inset into it to turn up or down
(counter clockwise is down).

Locate the sensor under the dash and turn down or
simply unplug it. Should be a little oblong box
wire tied up high under the dash, and would
blink when it detects vibration.
