Car Alarms: 2000 Suburban alarm, oem system, fuel injectors

I have a 2000 suburban with I believe the passlock system. It is the standard one that come with cars with the door lock key chain. Recently the horn quit honking when I set the alarm and on one occasion the headlights kept flashing . The dealership has said it cannot be over ridden and has to be replaced.  Is this correct?

Well OK, there are actually 2 factory systems at work here. The horn honking and head light flashing part and the PASSLOCK II system that shuts down the fuel injectors. Both can be overriden. Go to www.GMPASSLOCK.com to see the PLJX kit to render the
OEM system inert.
