Car Alarms: Confused About Alarm Options, toyota alarm, toyota rav4

Question
My girlfriend wants a Toyota RAV4 Limited V6 AWD with navigation. Having some connections (over 10 years running dealerships), I searched high and low and made lots of phone calls to find the one she wanted here in NY. Nothing--it turns out Tri-State Area (NY/NJ/CT) Toyota stores seldom if ever order vehicles with navigation systems--I guess they try to sell aftermarket models which they can mark up more. Anyway, I had a friend at Toyota run a locate and found the closest one is in PA. Called the GM. He was nice enough to give me a house deal so here is my problem...

I'm going to need an alarm since I'm here in Brooklyn. If I have them put in an official Toyota alarm and remote start it will all work with one key fob which is good. But based on having read some of your answers I know that sometimes you have to tweak the settings on a new alarm. I don't feel like driving 90 miles for tweaks and I know if I bring it to a dealer here they will try to charge me. So I started thinking aftermarket. I found a fancy looking Python 872P alarm/remote start on Crutchfield.com. But I'm also a little confused if I should get an alarm at all or just the remote start. They RAV4 Limited has a Smart Key system which locks the doors and immobilizes the engine 30 seconds after I walk away from it. So getting an alarm basically would only serve to make noise if someone breaks my glass--and people ignore this anyway.

Anyway, I need your advice.

1) Should I get the aftermarket Python 872P?
Do you think the alarm function of the python will interfere with the alarm function (engine immobilizing) of the Smart Key system?

2) SHould I go with the factory alarm and remote start? They want 895 for the two. I can get the Python 872P installed locally pay 400 for the system and have money left over for the install. What does an installer typically charge if I walk in with my own part by the way?

3) Should I just get the remote start (either factory or aftermarket). I don't necessarily need a loud blaring alarm that 99 times out of 100 will be a false. And essentially the Smart Key is acting as a passive alarm/engine immbobilizer.

Is this officially a rant yet? heheh. Sorry man. Just confused about alarm sensitivity and all. Is there any way I can adjust sensitivity myself?

Answer
Not a fan of DEI (Python) so the best
idea is to go to www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com
and restate this there. My Rant
would not be favorable to this project. :>|

The moderator there (Robert) does however
do DEI Q&A & is very good about getting back
to folks quickly.
