Car Alarms: Alarm recommendation for an RV, metal bolt, dead bolt

Question
QUESTION: Hello.  I am looking for a complete alarm system for my 2003 Chevy RV that is a class B+ (it is made on the Chevy Express chassis).  I want a pager to alert me of intrusion (motion detection) in the cabin, driver/passenger door open, glass breakage and probably ignition disable.  I have read about a few systems, but it is difficult to put together something that will work for what I need.

I am a TV broadcast engineer and will install the system, so don't hold back on the technical details.

Thank you very much!

ANSWER: I own 2 RV's of my own and have them both outfitted with the
Galaxy 5000 rsw 2 2way system with microwave motion sensors.
Great range and cost effective.

Added heavy duty pin switches and dome light illumination relay,
upon disarm, plus added a heavy duty trunk release solinoid to
add a dead bolt to the side door on the Bounder for extra protection.
This made for a great all around system in both the Marathon and the
Bounder alike.

I can tailor a good one for you as well.

QUESTION: Thank you for the reply!  How does the dome light illumination relay add as a security feature - pardon my ignorance, very new to auto alarms.

The dead bolt is a great idea as I have seen a show where there was a race to see who can break into an RV the quickest.  Does your screen door present any issues installing this dead bolt?

Thanks again Robert, we'll be in touch.

Answer
Ah, ok on the dead bolt, no problem there as I added a
heavy metal bolt "loop" I machined to go through the screen
door at the top, and the release actuator goes into
and out of the loop with a door lock bolt
(with assembly welded into place and
boxed for esthetic value). Allot of wiring
to the cetral brain under the cluster box at the dash,
but now works well for those trips to the
RV park when you want to go off for a day trip.

The point though was the alarm can control it.
On the dome light, you get to unlock/disarm the door
and see who's inside the vehicle prior to entry
at night. There is an output that requires a relay to
do that but doable.

Keep in mind if wanting to add remote start as well,
you will likely need a PASSLOCK bypass kit for the
immobilizer in the ignition too.

I'll be here :>)
