Car Alarms: reset car alarm, prestige car, car alarm

i have a prestige car alarm from honda. i used the key to open the vehicle without using the remote. the alarm sounded continuously and i am not able to use the vehicle without the alarm sounding. someone at the dealer said i have to reset the alarm. does anyone know how to do this so i don't have to go to the shop?
