Car Alarms: compustar 1 / 2w900fmr, 12 volt, honda civic

I recently purchased a car with this alarm system in it. compustar 2w900fmr. its a 1999 honda civic hatchback.
Up to the other day i have had no problems with it. the alarm system still functions but the car willnot start, everything lights up but there is no response from the ignition.
I understand there is a starter kill switch within the alarm components.how can i check this to see if it is the problem?
