Car Alarms: Compustar 1W900FMW\R, compustar, 12 volt

We just purchased a (used) vehicle that has the subject remote starter installed.  But, can't get anything to activate from the remote.  Any ideas?  The little blue light will flash when a button is pushed, but nothing happens.  ??  Thank you in advance for your help.
