Car Alarms: 1994 Mazda 626 Car Alarm, alarmtek, dash area

Question
I was in an accident recently that hit my driver door.  I tried to make the alarm go off by locking the door with key and having someone to open from the inside.  It did not go off.  Is there another way to manually test the alarm system?  My mechanic took off the driver panel and tested the inside and said they look fine and tested fine.  What could possibly be the problem?  It was working fine until the accident.  Is there a trunk release inside the car that you could pull to make the alarm go off?  I am trying to determine if the alarm is affected by the accident?  Thanks so much for your time.

Answer
Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
