Car Alarms: new battery: cant start truck, keyless entry systems, car alarms

Question
We installed a new battery in our Toyota pickup earlier this week.  After installation, the truck couldn't be started.  We have tried to sync the remote and system in the truck according the steps in the manual to no avail.  The system we have is a Python 1000HF (yes, this is an older system and truck).

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated!
