Car Alarms: keypad starter kill, valet mode, starter wire

Question
QUESTION: I have a Pursuit keypad that we use to start our vehicle.  It is starting to go out and wondered what we have to do to disable this system so that we can still start our vehicle without it?

ANSWER: Ok, should be fairly easy. To try to disarm it,
look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

That should solve the troubles for now.
Repeat the steps to toggle back to valet when needed.

Let me know what you discover.

QUESTION: Okay havinga hard time finding the toggle switch. would it be in the dash board of under it?  Also we do not have keyless entry if that makes a difference.  Also is there a way to reset the code?  We bought the vehicle with the small keypad in the truck already.

Answer
Then sorry, but it's likely to be a
simple keypad starter kill and will need
to be extracted and the starter wire repaired.

Get the wiring for the car at www.wirewerx.com and then
retrofit the system and repair the starter wire to
pre installation condition.

Good luck.
