Car Alarms: car alarm install, merry christmes, resident technicians

i recently bought a gallaxy 5000rs car alarm remote start. im not quite sure how to install it but with the wire location sheet that i have i think i got it right. the alarm turns on but no functions work on the alarm. im not sure what is wrong. i didnt install it completely yet because the bypass module i have didnt plug into the alarm like the directions said to do so i wasnt sure how to go about it. the car is a 2001 neon and the bypass module is a chdl-pk3a do you have any suggestions? does the whole remote start and everything have to work for the rest of the alarm to work? i chirps when i connect it but thats all. is this a thing that i need special relays for or does the bypass take care of it for me? please help? or maybe you know of a place that installs these alarms in minnesota cuase i cant find any.
