Porsche: boxster battery replacement, door latch, negative cable

the battery in my 1998 boxster is dead. the truck latch is electric so i cant get to the battery. how do i open the trunk

Answer
Pull the fuse cover off.  It's down by where the driver's left foot would be.  There you'll see a red contact with a picture of the car with its hood open.  Pull that out about an inch and you'll have a positive contact to the battery.  Attach your negative cable to the door latch or hinge.  Do not try to start the car.  This will give you just enough power to pop the hood.  Once you have the hood open, connect directly to the battery and jump the car as you would any other.
