Car Alarms: 96 Explorer will not start, remote start, ford explorer

Hello, I have a 96 ford explorer with a remote start system installed. I do not know if its factory or not. The remote says "your valet", the original owner says it was factory installed, but Ive been told it aftermarket. Either way the remote start was turned off (toggle switch deep in dash), flipped it back on and a week later I started having problems with the truck starting. I got a new battery and it didn't fix the problem, no one seems to know what the issue is. Since then the remote start has been turned off and the truck had been working for a week, I go out this morning to find the same issue. How do I reset and remove this system if it is the cause of my non starting issue?
