Car Alarms: 96 Chevy cavalier, chevy cavalier, gm dealer

Question
I recently lost my car alarm,I don't know much about cars but I assume its a factory alarm.wen I open the door the alarm goes off n cant start the car.I was recently told that everything would have to be disconnected..the starter,battery...etc...I called the gm dealer n he said it could be a lot of things wrong with it n to have it checked out but I can't get the car towed anywhere because my funds are limited.would someone happen to know how to get around this,n tell me wat I can do to get it up n running again? ?thank you
