Car Alarms: unable to disarm alarm, keyless entry systems, car alarms

Question
I have a 2000 Durango with a 5701 viper alarm.  I can not disarm the alarm with the remote.  I unlock with the key, but when open the door the alarm goes off. I can't even start the Durango.  

Any ides?
