Car Alarms: Adding an alarm to factory setup

Question
QUESTION: Is there an Omega interface that I can add to the factory alarm and remote start that I currently have on my 2008 Chevy Silverado that has a shock sensor and glass-break microphone? I have been looking for an alarm, and one installer told me about this option, but I don't know if I believe him.

ANSWER: Contact Ryan at
ryan@slickcar.com

and ask about the AL 100.

But from what I know about this truck, you will have
more luck re doing the whole thing.
The MULTI PLEXING door lock system and the
PASSLOCK II system in this truck make it
nearly impossible to use that device.

Tell me more about the "factory" remote starter.
Is it actually GM's or was it installed at the
dealer prior to sale/delivery?

QUESTION: I think it was actually GM's remote start. It was an option on the truck prior to me purchasing it....I'm almost certain it is their remote starter.

Answer
If that's the case, you can try it, but may not be compatible
on the 08'. Cheap enough to fail and bail if it does'nt work.

If not wanting to experiment, add a basic after market car
alarm to enhance the system you have and save a bunch trying
to integrate the factory remote to control the new features.

Get one with a tiny remote so it is not a burden.

Hard truck to do the add on AL 100 on.
