Car Alarms: 2000 Jeep Cherokee w/ MOPAR EVS II & Keyless Entry, jeep cherokee, adequate replacement

Question
I purchased the Jeep Cherokee new in 2000 with the MOPAR EVS II installed. No operational problems.

Just had the A/C evaporator serviced which required removal of the dash panel. In the process, the mechanics inadvertently damaged the combination LED/Valet pushbutton switch.

Dealership wasn't helpful in locating a replacement. As far as they're concerned the switch is discontinued as an individual part and I will have to purchase a new alarm system.

I found enough pieces of the switch to determine that it appears to be a momentary contact switch. I was able to use the "lens" and spring to disarm the alarm.

Do you have any technical specifications for the switch such as number of wires and LED voltage? Would a Direct 8606, 4-wire Combination LED/Valet switch be an adequate replacement to splice in, or could you recommend another alternative?

Thanks

Answer
Check with Robert in my 12 volt forum for something on this.
I beleive I remember seeing something on a Mopar alarm being discussed there
in the past. Use the search engine there to find that
thread, or re ask this question there again to see if he has an
answer.

Good luck.
