Chrysler Repair: Left turn indicator problem, turn indicator, orange wire

Question
Roland,

Thanks for your recent answer regarding my "limp-in" problem. I have an electrical problem as well. The left turn indicator will only engage(work) when I physically hit the dash (directly above the steering wheel) after turning on, what to do?

Answer
I believe that either the switch contact is oxidized or the wire out of the switch is loose. If you open up the switch you will find the  wires are either tan/light green or light green/white and selecting either turn direction should close the connection between one of the other of those two wires and the black/orange wire of the switch. If neither is grounded when you try the left then located the switch contacts and spray them with electrical contact circuit cleaner. If it seems to work reliably then the wires to the 'diode package' of the relay bank on the left cowl (to the left of the drivers leg under the dash will need to be checked out.
