Car Alarms: 98 rav4 car alarm, toyota rav 4, car alarm

My car alarm is crazy. Sometimes, when I try and unlock the car (by pressing the car alarm) it goes off for no reason... then the alarm won't work for awhile. Then it works, then it doesn't... any ideas? (car is a 98 Toyota Rav 4

Bad ground sounds like.
Best thing is to check a connection points
for the alarmm wiring, specifically the grounds
and if there are "T" Taps on this install, remove them
and solder wires. This can also be traced
to a bad sensor, or door trigger.
Check the plunger pin switches for validity as well.
