Car Alarms: My Marksm M3a Car alarm is way too sensitive., shock sensor, garbage truck

Question
I had the Marksman M3a alarm put into my 1993 Honda accord, and when cars go by fast, a motorcycle goes by, or a large truck (ex: garbage truck) goes by, the alarm goes off.  Sometimes it is just a warning chirp, but the alarm blows sometimes also.  It is very annoying and I was wondering if there was anything I can do to lower the sensitivity or if i would have to take it back to the place that put it in?
Thank You

Answer
Try to locate the shock sensor.
It's likely to be wire tied up in the
drivers side underdash area.

When you locate the little box that blinks
under there, you found it.

Unplug it.

Then the problem of vibration detection would go away,
and the alarm will depend on the door triggers
to defend against theft.

You could try to turn it down, but I don't like
shock/impact sensors on the whole. It's best
to just dispose of it.

Good luck.
