Car Alarms: 1999 Camaro Alarm reset location, valet mode, dash area

Question
Thank you for the answer to how to reset the alarm.  Your answer was easy enough to follow.  We are having a similar problem.  The alarm goes off at all times of the day.  just from the slightest vibration of a vehicle driving by.  How do we stop this from occurring?  We tried to follow your instruction for this.  We searched under the dash but to no avail.  Where should the alarm re-set button or toggle be located?  We are trying to sell it at this point and know this would be helpful information to be passed along.

Answer
The shock/impact sensor seems to be the likely
culprit here.

It's usually to be found under the dash area,
blinking when anything taps on the underpanel.
Locate and either unplug or turn down.

To start, look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. Likely placed under
the dash area to the left knee, or
if it has remote starter, in the antenna on the window
glass.

When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. The next step is to
either remove the alarm or, try to identify,
and get new remotes for it.

But once in Valet mode, it will allow the car
to start and operate like there was no alarm at all.

Let me know how it goes.
