Car Alarms: disabling/deinstalling Pursuit Pro9244, mitsubishi galant, dead silence

Question
QUESTION: We have a 1994 Mitsubishi Galant with a Pursuit Pro9244 system installed. Years ago, I had problems with the alarm system and I had the system disabled. I can't remember whether I had my mechanic disable it, or I just simply turned it off with the switch beneath the dashboard. The indicator light showed a steady "on" light while it was disabled. I've since given the car to my parents, and they are now reporting to me that the car will not start (nothing at all happens, dead silence), and the alarm indicator light is blinking and ticking. The battery has been charged and all accessory lights in the car are working. My dad, who used to be a mechanic long ago, tells me that he believes the problem is that the alarm is no longer disabled. He said that the wires going to the switch beneath the dashboard have broken off the switch. To try to disable the alarm, he has removed two alarm wires from the battery, and has removed the wire to the horn. This didn't help.
All we want to do is get this alarm permanently disabled. Can you tell me what we need to do?

ANSWER: You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
Then, look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

But if it does work, I'd keep it this way, and
replace the alarm asap with one you know and
understand how it operates for the best overall
experience.

Let me know if it works for yours.

QUESTION: As I mentioned before, the wires to the switch broke, so I'm guessing this process won't work? There is no microbutton, just the wires where the switch was.
I was hoping to find a way to physically disconnect the wires that are killing the ignition.
Please advise. Thanks.

Answer
Ok then, get over to the local car alarm shop,
or Best Buys will have a valet switch that
will fit for your
alarm.

In the mean time, cut off the switch part,
leaving the 2 wires that were connected, free.

Then twist together, turn on the ignition,
hold both wires to ground until the siren chirps.

That should reset and place the alarm into
over ride for now. Nothing accept the keyless entry
if installed will operate until you repeat the
same steps.

Then get a new switch OR,
remove at this point and you're all set.

Have a good day.
Let me know if you were
successful.
